Smart, sensitive, brave, and athletic, very healthy and sound five-year-old chestnut gelding, "Roo" is 15.3 hh, barefoot and ready for work! He has been started slowly, correctly in hand and lightly under saddle. Good ground manners - leads, cross-ties, grooms, tacks, bathes, stands for farrier & vet.

"Roo" has a big personality and enjoys a busy barn environment, well suited to continue in his education with an amateur or pro in an eventing, dressage or show jumping home. He will be a versatile all round recreational partner too! He loads willingly and was hauled extensively as a foal to a 2-year-old prior to being sold to the eastern US.

 

In hand: walks, halts, backs, turns, lead from either side.

Longe line: walk, trot, canter, back, halt. Some ground pole work, some cross-pole/short fence work.

Under saddle: stands for mounting block, working on patience. Walk, direct-rein steering, halt. Now in full-time training by professional trainer, good trot, developing canter under saddle. Now lightly started over fences.

"Roo" is by the Irish Draught stallion "Thatcher" In Shining Armour (Glenlara) and out of "Cait" DKH Counting Stars (herself an IDHSC Approved Irish Sport Horse mare). "Cait" is progressing through the eventing levels with a youth partner. "Roo" is a 3/4 Irish Draught gelding eligible for sporthorse inspection with IDHSNA or IDHSC once his registration is complete.
